My struggles...

I am a housewife and have a kind of part time job at home(web corrector of high school student's English worksheet.) So, what I want to tell is...I have only limited time to learn languages. I always watch recorded TV program(language educational program) in the morning...during breakfast before I take my daughter to her kindy. Whenever I drive my car, I listened to the radio program for learners of Italian  CD. My families seemed very cooperative with me but nowadays they seem a bit fed up with listening radio program and began complaining about that. They said...it's noisy, not comfortable(in the car), boring brabrabra...

I have to be patient and find another way to listen to it.

Next week, I expect more time to listen to it alone in my home during lunch...?

Italian numbers...

I am learning numbers. Now I can count from uno to venti!
Uno, due, tre, quattro, cinque, sei, sette, otto, nove, dieci....undici, dodici, tredici, quattordici, quindici, sedici, diciassette, diciotto, diciannove, venti.
Numbers from uno to dieci is easy! But ones from undici to venti is a bit difficult to remember.
By the way, I learned the numbers and, one of shopping phrases. It is...

Vorrei chinque cornetti. = I want 5 croissants.

Vorrei chinque cornetti...Do you know italian 'r' sound? When I read the sentence aloud, my kids laughed because it sounds funny for them. Never mind! Repetition is great way to learn languages...I will repeat italian sentences many times from now....But...actually, it sounds funny for me, too. I have to get used to saying it.

So I started to lean Italian.

First of all, I went to the book store nearby. The bookstore is small and doesn't have many variety of language educational books and textbooks. But I found good ones.
It's NHK text books!!

I found this first. The title is 'まいにちイタリア語(Mainichi Itaria go).' NHK dai-ni radio station will provide educational programs and it has Italian language learning program in it. They broadcast this program every weekdays. I bought textbooks and CDs recorded this program. I put this CDs to my iTune, so that I can listen to it everywhere I would like to! Great!

I found another; Ta-da!

This textbook is for the program called 'テレビでイタリア語(terebi de itaria go).' You can watch this program through NHK-E digital broadcasting. This program is newly released from this spring. They are called  'Euro 24' seriese. They have four language and cultural programs for European language learners. And this is one of them. I love this program becasue this program has relaxing atmosphere and I can enjoy learning with a nice teacher, a pretty and smart assistant and a very fun actor(Takahashi Kastumi is so funny in this program!)

Well, I will keep listening and watching these programs and I will keep learning journal sometimes in a week. Take a look!

Piacere, Italy, sono Yoko!

One day, I thought...How about traveling to Italy?
It's rediculius becasue, A) I haven't been abroad ever. B) I was an English teacher but never been to English speaking country like the U.S. or England. C) Why my first foreign country to visit should be Italy?
I don't know but I love Italian food like pizza, pasta and rasagna, and I really think Italian scenery seems beautiful and worth while visiting! What if I have a chance to visit Italy when I am too old to eat that oily meals and I can't travel a lot to see many beautiful places?
So, dreaming to travel to Italy up until I will become 55years old, I started to plan traveling to Italy.

1) Budjet
I am a part time working mom with two kids. One will be a junior high school student, the other will be a grade school student...in two years. My salary is not so high and I am a part time worker. So first of all, I have to find good full time work to earn enough money to save for my traveling!

2) Purpose
This will be a big event in my life. So I should have good purposes in order to enjoy my stay. So I will brainstorm my thought on my trip to Italy.
When I travel to Italy, I'd like to...
     eat tasty pizza and pasta.
     eat delicious sweets.
     visit God Father shooting spot.
     visit Sisily.
meet someone I'd like to meet.
     find pretty shoes for myself.
     take many pictures in there.

3) How long?
I have two kids and a husband...I have to think of them if I will do something for myself. I have a responsibility as a parent and a house mom. So if I travel to Italy, I have to be careful when I plan to go traveling there. But if I have nothing to worry about my scheduling, I'd love to stay there more than 2 weeks. If I should bring my kids there...I'd love to stay there for a week...But of course it depends on my budget.

So, I don't know if I can visit Italy, or not...but I started to learn Italian. (continue)
